TikTok will help creators monetize content
At the end of June TikTok launched a new feature for creators – Jump, which is supposed to help them make content available to users through external partners. Now new to the platform will be longer videos.
What is TikTok Jump?
TikTok Jump to services and programs that creators can link to in their videos. When clicked, users will go to recipes, quizzes or educational tools without having to leave the TikTok app.
The new feature is designed to make it easier to share content with users and create a more dynamic and practical experience for the TikTok community, while HTML5 compatibility and easy technical integration will simplify the use of.
Jump in practice
For now the list of developers and partners is limited, TikTok is working on Jump e.g. We’ve been working with Whisk, Breathwrk, Wikipedia, Quizlet, StatMuse and Tabelog, but soon – according to TikTok – more services will join, and the availability of features for developers will be expanded.
The new feature was described by the head of product at TikToku as the final step in the journey, which aims to put deeper interactions with external content creators in the hands of users. For example, tiktoker publishing cooking videos can link to recipes found on the Whisk app. Other examples include quizzes from Quizlet or breathing exercises from Breathwrk.
There are many indications that Jump will be a good way to keep users on TikTok, but also a chance for creators and brands to simply redirect viewers to their own app or online store. For viewers, these will be new experiences – in the form of education or shopping, and deeper interactions with their favourite brands or influencers. Social commerce and monetization of activity in social media – thanks to TikTok Jump – should be easier and more engaging, and how it will be, as usual, will turn out in practice.
Longer video in TikTok
Longer videos are also supposed to support creators in commercializing their activities on TikTok. Users will be able to record, upload and edit videos up to three minutes long directly on the platform. Currently, the maximum video length on TikTok is 60 seconds. Change is the answer to creators’ needs. Until now, they have been forced to publish video consisting of multiple parts. Longer films are to enable creators to produce new types of content, with more freedom in terms of length. TikTok promises that the option to create longer videos will come to all users in the coming weeks.
